Which Is Better, SEO or GEO?

This is the wrong question, because GEO is not a replacement for SEO, it is an extension of it. SEO gets you found in search engines. GEO, or generative engine optimisation, gets you cited in AI-generated answers. You need both, and the good news is they rely on much of the same foundation: clean technical health, clear and authoritative content, and genuine trust signals. If you neglect SEO to chase GEO, you will struggle at both, because the AI systems doing the generating still draw from web content that has to be discoverable and credible in the first place. My honest advice is to get your SEO fundamentals right first, then layer GEO on top. One feeds the other rather than competing with it.
